Jewelry Repair Services at Jackson Jewelers What to Expect

With over 80 years of expertise, Jackson Jewelers offers repair services as part of our commitment to our clients and our community. To get started, we recommend scheduling an appointment through our online calendar at a time that works best for you. Once your appointment is confirmed, we look forward to meeting you in person to assess your repair needs on a case-by-case basis. During this consultation, we will evaluate whether the piece can be repaired to meet Jackson Jewelers' high standards and do our best to provide you with an approximate cost estimate.

We prioritize repairs on items purchased at Jackson Jewelers. For items purchased elsewhere, we do accept outside repairs selectively - if that appointment option is currently inactive, we are unable to take on outside repairs at that time. When we agree to take on your repair, regardless of where it was purchased, you have our full commitment to quality work and care.

 

Our Basic Services Include

Cleaning & Finishing

  • Jewelry Cleaning and Polishing - Restore the shine and brilliance of your jewelry.
  • Rhodium Plating - Renew the bright white finish of your white gold jewelry with rhodium plating.

Sizing & Structural

  • Ring Sizing - Adjust your ring to the perfect size for a comfortable fit.
  • Ring Shank Replacement - Replace worn or damaged ring shanks for enhanced durability.
  • Ring Soldering - Permanently join two rings together, such as an engagement ring and wedding band, for a seamless and secure fit.
  • Bracelet Repair - Repair broken links or damaged bracelets.
  • Chain Soldering - Repair broken or damaged chains.
  • Clasp Replacement - Replace worn or broken clasps on necklaces and bracelets.
  • Pearl Restringing - Restring pearl necklaces and bracelets. Please note that pearl restringing is sent out to a specialist and may have a longer turnaround time than standard repairs.

 

Stone & Setting Work

  • Prong Tightening and Retipping - Reinforce and repair prongs to keep your stones secure.
  • Stone Tightening and Replacement - Ensure gemstones are secure and replace any lost stones.
  • Center Crown Replacement - Replace worn or damaged center crowns that hold your main stone securely. Our diamond setters are highly skilled, ensuring careful resetting of your center stone.

Other

  • Earring Repair - Replace or repair posts, backs, and hinges on earrings.
  • Engraving - Available at the time of a custom design or special order purchase only. Engraving is not available for outside items or items not purchased at Jackson Jewelers.

 

Repair Pricing - All formal repair services start at a base charge of $150 and are priced based on the scope of work required. In most cases we will assess your piece during your consultation and proceed with the repair at the fairest price possible. Written estimates are available on a case by case basis for larger or more complex projects - please request one at the time of your consultation if needed. Please note that the full scope of a repair is not always determinable upfront and final pricing may vary based on conditions discovered during the repair process. Complimentary in store cleaning is available at no charge while you wait - no appointment necessary. Jewelry Restoration

Jewelry Restoration is our elevated level of service for clients whose needs go beyond a standard repair. This may include pieces requiring multiple services, significant alterations, custom enhancements, or a level of skilled work that exceeds what a basic repair appointment can address. Restoration is priced higher than standard repair and is quoted on a case-by-case basis after a full assessment of your piece and your goals.

 

Expert Services Include

  • Restoration Services - Ideal for clients looking to make significant changes or enhancements to an existing piece, or for items requiring extensive work across multiple areas. Our team will assess your piece, discuss your vision, and provide a detailed estimate for a full restoration plan.
  • Remake Services - When the scope of changes requested or the condition of the piece makes restoration less practical or more costly than starting fresh, a full remake may be the smarter solution. We salvage your existing stones and meaningful elements and reset them into a brand new piece — giving your jewelry a second life while preserving what matters most. This is also ideal for rings that have been cut off due to finger enlargement or pieces that are structurally beyond repair.
  • Custom Open and Close Shanks for Enlarged Knuckles - In partnership with Cliq, Jackson Jewelers offers a custom hinge band solution for clients experiencing difficulty wearing rings due to enlarged knuckles. This innovative design allows for a comfortable, secure fit and we will evaluate whether this solution is right for you.

 

Repair Turnaround Time

For most repairs, the typical turnaround time is 3-4 weeks from the date of drop off. You will receive a text or call when your repair is complete and ready for pickup. If additional time is needed or your piece requires the expertise of one of our designers, we will notify you in advance.

We know it can be hard to wait for a piece that means a lot to you and we truly appreciate your patience. Every repair is completed in the order it is received and given the individual time and care it deserves. We will always reach out to you as soon as your piece is ready. If you have not heard from us after 5 weeks please feel free to contact us and we will be happy to provide an update.
